Intro  0:03

Welcome to the Watching Paint Dry podcast where we feature today’s top facility managers, property managers and property owners talking about the challenges and opportunities of managing hundreds of 1000s of square feet of real estate and how to beautify and improve their properties. Now, let’s get started with the shell.

Greg Owens  0:31

Hello, this is another episode of Watching Paint Dry. And we are in March, March 24. For more than a year of this pandemic, and things are feeling better and better I was just driving to get to my office here at home and and noticing like traffic is seemingly back to exactly where it was before all of this started just as bad. In other words, it was nice sort of having that break of traffic. I hope everybody out there is doing well and their loved ones are doing well. I know this has been a super challenging time for many, many of us. And this podcast is sponsored by my company McCarthy Painting. We do both residential and commercial painting throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. For many of the commercial type projects we’ve done. We’ve worked for spin First Bank, Abercrombie and Fitch, h&m stores, and many, many others. We did Chase Bank here in Mill Valley. Recently, we did First Bank and lots of others. To find out more, go to info at McCarthypainting.com. And I’m super excited to have Alyssa Cooper on the call today from Philz Coffee. And I have to tell you lolis like Philz Coffee has changed my life tremendously. And and here’s how I mean, in a couple of ways. At first, I didn’t like Philz Coffee, not because of the coffee. It was so good. I didn’t like the lines, right. And we’re over in Marin. And now you know, the first store is over in Sausalito. And there’s always these lines, and it drove me crazy because I need coffee. But I need to get to work right? Like I don’t want to wait in line. And then you guys came out with an amazing app before COVID. Right. So I can order I can I can go into your locations. And this is what I love about Philz I can go into your locations here at like quarter Madeira here. And I would sit in there and I would I can order my coffee and start working right. So I can just stay working order my coffee, it gets delivered, I can start drinking my coffee. And I’m hanging out there. And what always blows me away is it’s such a comfortable environment. There’s great music, it’s a great work environment for me. And because it keeps me sort of focused, even though there’s like, I don’t know, 20 or 30 kids like doing homework. And there’s other people working and there’s people chit chatting, but it’s it’s such an amazing place. Thank you for joining us on this podcast. You could tell I am a big fan. And this is also we have Katrina Stephenson on the call today and she works with McCarthy Painting learning lots about facilities management, and Jeopardy and all things. Thank you. Alyssa, how are you? How is your family? How are you been doing in this time?

Alyssa Cooper  3:22

You know, we are we’re good. You know, it has been it’s been crazy tricky year. I’m sure everyone has been kind of going through that I actually moved into a new place. So I am by myself. But it’s definitely been difficult trying to kind of navigate moving and yeah, I mean everything else in between. But my family is doing great. Luckily, no one has gotten COVID just yet, but we’re all trying to get some vaccine shots. So it’s it seems like the light at the end of very crazy confusing dark tunnel.

Greg Owens  4:00

It’s that’s a very good way to put it because it and it does feel like even though we don’t know much about this vaccine, right? Again, they keep warn, and they keep warning us that there’s there’s these variants out there, but everybody’s trying to get the vaccine right now. And it’s so wonderful. We’ve got a bunch of our employees that were able to get it. And it’s what Yeah, like the light is at the end of the tunnel in so many ways. We’re all banking on this.
